110 years ago today, the Easter Rising changed the course of Irish history. A small group of revolutionary men and women took on an empire, and though the Rising was short-lived, its impact reached far beyond 1916.

Today is a chance to remember the sacrifice of those involved and also those who have strived for Irish freedom throughout our history.
