The last slide is me with a statue of Annie Moore from Cobh, Ireland and her two younger brothers. She was the very first immigrant to be admitted to the United States through the immigration center at Ellis Island on Jan 1st, 1892. I’m half Irish and my mother’s maiden name is Moore, so I felt this one in my heart. Thanks to my love for bringing me here to show me this.

If you are born in the USA, unless you’re Native American, don’t ever forget that at some point in time, whether recent or in the not so distant past, someone in your family made a journey (most likely a difficult one) which lead you to this exact moment in the US. Tune in with compassion and remember, kids…weaponizing immigration is anti-American.
