Post5 – Slovenian Local Networking 25/06/2026

🤝 Networking and Mentoring Event in Ljubljana

The Slovenian networking and mentoring event of the Distance Learning Made Easy project was implemented in Ljubljana by the Institute for Health and Environment, with the involvement of Impact HUB Ljubljana.

The programme consisted of two connected sessions, held on 18 April 2025 and 21 January 2026, bringing together 28 and 31 participants respectively. This two-stage approach supported not only the presentation of project results, but also their testing, reflection and local adaptation over time.

Participants from education, adult learning, civil society, higher education, sustainability and digital learning explored how the project’s methodological materials, toolkits, guidelines and online courses can be used in real educational, training and community learning settings.

The first session focused on presenting the project results and preparing practical testing, while the second session provided space to reflect on experiences, discuss adaptation opportunities and present the two Slovenian-language online courses: Innovative Online Course Development and Level-up: AI and VR in Online Course Development.

The event confirmed that digital learning resources are most valuable when they are connected to clear learning objectives, practical activities, interaction, feedback and flexible adaptation to learners’ needs.

The Ljubljana process strengthened the visibility, practical use and sustainability of the project results, while also supporting the development of a Slovenian professional community committed to improving digital, hybrid and distance learning.

✨ The best stories about our trainings come from the people who live them.

Here’s a personal reflection from Petra Buru, one of the participants of the very first Environer Training in Slovenia — capturing the learning, the connections, and the spirit behind the project:

,,At the beginning of December 2025 I got the amazing opportunity to be part of the first Environer training in Slovenia.
The 3-day event was packed full of learning through non-formal and interactive methods, as well as peer learning. It was extra special to me that I got to facilitate a game of Climate Fresk to my fellow participants. We also worked on topics such as climate anxiety and ways to move into action, as well as interactive tools we can use in our environmental education sessions.

Besides all the fun we had in the meeting room, we filled our time with impromptu visits to the city to see Santa Claus arrive, cultural exchange with some delicious foods, as well as learning how to woo someone in Slovenian.

The most unique aspect of this training is that we'll have two more planned, one in Georgia and one in Hungary. This will allow all the foundational learning and team building we started to grow into strong bonds, deep knowledge and international connections that can last years.

As someone who has attended quite a few trainings before, this is the aspect I always miss and wish to have, so the fact that the Environer project recognised and built around this important factor is incredibly special in my opinion.

I'm thankful to the three organisations who created and launched this project for inviting me and carrying on such a huge task, hats off to Proteus Foundation, Umbrella and IZO! Can't wait to continue in Georgia :)"

🌱 Reflecting on Our First Digital Sustainability Training! - project 🌱

Last December, we had the pleasure of running the first session of our international project on digital tools for sustainability education in Ljubljana! 🎉

Participants from Hungary, Slovenia, and beyond explored interactive tools like EN-ROADS Climate Simulator and other engaging digital platforms, practiced facilitation techniques, and reflected on how to bring climate knowledge into action. 💻🌍

During the training, participants:

-> Gained confidence in facilitating workshops and leading group activities

-> Explored digital tools and simulations to make sustainability education more interactive

-> Learned how to address climate anxiety and turn it into motivation for action

-> Shared their own experiences and contributed to a growing network of sustainability educators

The commitment and energy of the group were truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to see how they apply their new skills in their communities! 🙌 Special thank to our partners Inštitut za zdravje in okolje and Umbrella • ამბრელა

Next stop: Georgia 🇬🇪 — we’re excited to continue this journey and support our participants in bringing digital climate education to life.
