Pestilence is a pioneering Dutch death metal band formed in the late 1980s, widely respected for helping shape the technical and progressive side of the genre. Founded by guitarist and vocalist Patrick Mameli, the band gained recognition through albums such as Consuming Impulse and Testimony of the Ancients, which combined aggressive riffs, complex song structures, and dark philosophical themes. Over the years, Pestilence evolved from a raw thrash/death metal sound into a more experimental style that incorporated jazz fusion influences and intricate musicianship. Their influence can still be heard across modern technical death metal bands today.

Enbor Arnasa is a Basque metal project founded in 2019, blending heavy, thrash, and death metal influences with lyrics sung entirely in Basque. The band’s self-titled debut album emerged from compositions written before the pandemic and released during lockdown, featuring songs such as Bihotzez, Berpiztu, and Sortzen. The project is associated with musician Dani Cordova and reflects an aggressive yet atmospheric sound rooted in the underground extreme metal scene of the Basque Country.
