《泰晤士高等教育》剛剛公布2026年「可持續發展影響力評級」，香港科大位列全球第20位，並再次蟬聯全港第一。排名充分反映科大在推動可持續創新及應對全球挑戰方面的領導地位。

創校35年來，科大一直積極將科研成果轉化為解決現實問題的動量，例如最近成立的「沿海城市氣候韌性國家重點實驗室」及「潘樂陶氣候變化與可持續發展研究中心」，均會促進跨學科合作，並以科研提升社會應對氣候威脅的關注。

科大的影響力亦已延伸至太空。「天韻相機」二氧化碳與甲烷點源協同探測儀準確監測地球溫室氣體排放。它亦是首個由香港研發並登上天宮太空站的載荷，為全球氣候監測作出貢獻。

In the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, HKUST is ranked No. 20 worldwide and once again No. 1 in Hong Kong, a testament to its leadership in sustainable innovation and tackling global challenges.

For 35 years and counting, HKUST has vigorously translated research into real-world solutions. Recent developments include the establishment of the State Key Laboratory of Climate Resilience for Coastal Cities and the Otto P**n Center for Climate Resilience and Sustainability, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and technology-driven approaches to strengthen resilience against climate threats.

Its impact also extends to space, where the “MUSICO” CO₂ and CH₄ detector enables high-precision detection of greenhouse gas emissions on Earth. This also marks the first Hong Kong-developed payload onboard the Tiangong Space Station and contributing to global climate monitoring.
