On 7 February 2026 (Sat), we held our pop up self-care Art Jam at the Saigong Street playground, the first time we reached Jordan. With the participation of a group of CUHK social work students and our volunteers, we were able to create a meaningful encounter in the community. The social work students learned how to reach out to the community and gained a deeper understanding of the personal stories of people from ethnically diverse backgrounds. This pop-up self-care Art Jam strategy is a wonderful way to engage with children, and it was so sweet to see the happy things they chose to draw. We hope that our future social workers will continue to develop sensitivity in building an inclusive community. Capacity-building work is never easy, especially when there seem to be no urgent concerns from community members and when rigid mentalities remain. Yet, change always begins with our hope and passion, and the next generation has a vital role to play. If we believe we can make a difference, change will happen, even if it is just a tiny step forward. We will keep refining our self-care Art Jam strategy and hope to reach out to different locations around Hong Kong in the future to spread the spiritual well-being concepts!!
