📺✨ VOICES (Φωνές) στο ΕΜΣΤ
Η τριπλή βίντεο-εγκατάσταση της Margarita Athanasiou, ένα δοκίμιο σε κινούμενη εικόνα που διερευνά την ιστορία της πνευματιστικής διαμεσολάβησης (channelling) και τις διασταυρώσεις της με το New Age και τις αναδυόμενες τεχνολογίες παρουσιάζεται για πρώτη φορά στην Αθήνα!

🧬 Το έργο αντλεί από βιωματικές εμπειρίες της καλλιτέχνιδας και συνομιλεί με οικογενειακές αφηγήσεις, λειτουργώντας ταυτόχρονα ως ιστορική χαρτογράφηση και ποιητικός στοχασμός για το τι σημαίνει να “κατέχει” κανείς μια φωνή.

EMΣT presents Margarita Athanasiou's three-channel video installation, a moving-image essay exploring the history of channelling practices and their intersections with New Age spirituality and emerging technologies, shown in Athens for the first time.

🧬 The work draws on the artist’s lived experience and family narratives, operating both as a historical mapping and a poetic reflection on what it means to “own” a voice.

Η έρευνα και ανάπτυξη του VOICES υποστηρίχθηκε από το πρόγραμμα Onassis AiR και την πλατφόρμα Onassis ONX. Η πρώτη παρουσίαση του έργου πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο της έκθεσης TECHNE 2025 στην Brooklyn Academy of Music (ΒΑΜ) στη Νέα Υόρκη, σε επιμέλεια του Onassis ONX. Στο ΕΜΣΤ παρουσιάζεται για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα.
The research and development of VOICES was supported by Onassis AiR and Onassis ONX. The first presentation of the work was in the context of TECHNE 2025 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (ΒΑΜ) in New York, curated by Onassis ONX. It is presented in Athens for the first time at EMΣΤ.

🌃🎞️ Το CineFIX επιστρέφει στην ταράτσα του ΕΜΣΤ.
Πανοραμική θέα στην πόλη, φόντο η Ακρόπολη και προβολές κάτω από τον αθηναϊκό ουρανό. Το θερινό σινεμά του ΕΜΣΤ ξεκινά στις 28 Μαΐου και συνεχίζει όλο το καλοκαίρι.

Ξεκινάμε με το εμβληματικό ντοκιμαντέρ των Chris Marker και Pierre Lhomme "Le joli mai (The Lovely Month of May)", 1963

Παρίσι, Μάιος του 1962, αμέσως μετά τη λήξη του πολέμου της Αλγερίας: Μέσα από συζητήσεις με κατοίκους της πόλης (εργάτες, φοιτητές, διανοούμενους, περαστικούς) η ταινία συνθέτει ένα πολυφωνικό πορτρέτο της γαλλικής κοινωνίας σε μια στιγμή μετάβασης. Ένα κινηματογραφικό δοκίμιο για την καθημερινότητα, την πολιτική συνείδηση και την ατμόσφαιρα μιας εποχής.

We start with the iconic documentary by Chris Marker and Pierre Lhomme: Le joli mai (The Lovely Month of May), 1963

Paris, May 1962, immediately after the end of the Algerian War: through conversations with the city’s residents (workers, students, intellectuals, passersby) the film composes a polyphonic portrait of French society at a moment of transition. A cinematic essay on everyday life, political consciousness, and the atmosphere of an era.
