_LAE, MOROBE PROVINCE_ - Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Lae City Authority, John Rosso, has officially launched the ServiceLink Digital Platform, a major milestone in modernizing service delivery in Lae.
Speaking at the launch, Rosso described ServiceLink as a transformative system designed to improve efficiency, accessibility, and transparency across all city services.
“ServiceLink is about making it easier for our people to access services without unnecessary delays. It ensures that what taxpayers pay is properly collected and returned to them through better services,” Rosso said.
The ServiceLink platform is a multi-service digital system that consolidates a wide range of Lae City Authority services into a single, easy-to-use interface. It enables residents and businesses to access services online from anywhere at any time without the need to go to LCA's office to pay for it.
The platform allows users to:
• Access city services online
• Apply for business licences, permits, and registrations
• Make secure digital payments for taxes, land rates, and service fees
• Lodge complaints and service requests
• Track applications and service requests in real time
• Monitor service delivery through transparent reporting systems
Rosso emphasized that the system removes manual handling of payments, ensuring greater accountability and reducing opportunities for inefficiency.
“This platform allows payments to go directly through secure channels, ensuring proper tracking and transparency. It is a system that works for the people,” he said.
The introduction of ServiceLink is expected to significantly improve how services are delivered in Lae by reducing queues, streamlining processes, and enhancing overall efficiency.
The platform will also strengthen revenue collection and accountability, ensuring that city services such as licensing, waste management, and municipal payments are managed more effectively.
Rosso reaffirmed his commitment to building a modern city, stating that ServiceLink represents a critical step toward a digitally connected and efficiently managed Lae.
“This is about creating a system that works simple, practical, and beneficial for every resident and business in our city,” he said.
The launch of ServiceLink marks a new chapter in Lae’s development, positioning the city at the forefront of digital service delivery in Papua New Guinea.
