Water Supply Disruption – Sukuta Water Treatment Plant
NAWEC regrets to inform its valued customers and the general public that one of the pumps at the Sukuta Water Treatment Plant developed a fault earlier today. As a result, only one pump is currently operational, which may lead to water shortages and low water pressure in some areas.
Areas Potentially Affected: Parts of Brusubi
NAWEC's technical team is currently on site assessing the situation and working diligently to restore full service as quickly as possible. The duration of the disruption is yet to be determined.
NAWEC sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks its valued customers for their patience and understanding.

Update on Current Power Supply Situation
NAWEC wishes to update the public that the ongoing load shedding is not nationwide but mainly affects parts of the Greater Banjul Area and West Coast Region, particularly during peak hours from around 6:00 PM. Most provincial areas remain largely unaffected.
The current situation is primarily due to technical challenges within the regional power system, which are also impacting neighbouring countries. These challenges have been further compounded by fuel supply constraints and broader regional factors, and are temporary in nature.
NAWEC continues to operate and strengthen its generation capacity, while ongoing efforts aim to bring additional power online and improve system reliability. Some load shedding may persist during peak periods as restoration works continue.
NAWEC sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused, especially during the Tobaski period, and assures the public that our teams are working around the clock to stabilise supply.
For further enquiries, please contact NAWEC's Customer Service Centre on 1669.
