Ghana has giants in its waters, on its land, and in its rivers.
Most people think of beaches and jollof (and pretty girls) when they think of Ghana. We think of humpback whales in the Gulf of Guinea, elephants at the watering hole in the north, and hippos resting on the Black Volta.
This is what we're here to show you. Swipe through. ๐

I have been known to take some risks ๐ซฃ.
This is a Black-Necked Spitting Cobra. I came across it quite suddenly while walking in the bush on the outskirts of Wa several years ago.
While they are generally shy and would choose to flee rather than fight, these guys will stand their ground if they are surprised.
As the name suggests, these cobras are capable of spraying venom with impressive accuracy at the eyes of a perceived threat from several meters away. The venom can cause intense pain and permanent blindness if not treated immediately.
Admittedly, taking photos instead of backing away quickly was not the smartest move here but...... the results!!!!! This is one of my all time favourite photos.
