MASSIVE BLOW: Over 6,000 Applicants Disqualified in Ghana Security Recruitment Over Drug Abuse & Mental Health Issues 🚨

More than 6,000 applicants have reportedly been disqualified during Ghana’s ongoing security services recruitment exercise after failing newly introduced drug and mental health screening tests, according to Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

According to the minister, over 100,000 applicants underwent medical examinations as part of the recruitment process into the various security services.

Authorities reportedly expanded the screening process beyond the usual physical and laboratory checks to include drug tests and mental health assessments due to growing concerns about discipline, wellbeing, and operational readiness within the services.

The Interior Minister revealed that:
• More than 4,000 applicants failed drug tests
• About 2,000 applicants were disqualified on mental health grounds

Speaking during an interview on Pan African TV, he stated:
“We introduced additional checks including mental health assessments and drug tests. Interestingly, over 4,000 people failed the drug test, and we have over 2,000 who also failed due to mental health conditions.”

The revelation has triggered widespread reactions online, with many Ghanaians expressing concern over increasing substance abuse and mental health challenges among the youth.

The stricter screening measures are part of government efforts to improve standards, professionalism, and discipline within Ghana’s security agencies.
