Today, the Ghana Chapter of the Network of Professional Women in Maritime and Ports together with the Women’s Commission of NASPA GPHA-Tema, reaffirm our commitment to supporting the health, dignity, confidence, and education of young girls across our communities.
Menstrual health is not merely a personal matter; it is a social, educational, and developmental issue. Far too many teenage girls miss school, lose confidence, or face stigma simply because they lack access to proper menstrual hygiene support and education.
As women working in the maritime and port industry, we believe that empowering girls begins with creating safe spaces for learning, awareness, and access to essential menstrual health resources. When girls are supported, informed, and confident, they are better positioned to pursue their education, leadership aspirations, and future careers without limitation.
We therefore commend and support all initiatives aimed at strengthening menstrual health education and improving access to menstrual hygiene products for students in our secondary schools. Together, we can help break the silence, remove stigma, and ensure that no girl is left behind because of her period.
