1. Piston: Moves up and down in the engine cylinder, driven by combustion forces.
2. Piston rings:- 1st and 2nd rings: Compression rings sealing combustion pressure. - Oil ring: Controls oil on cylinder walls.
3. Wrist pin: Connects piston to connecting rod's small end.
4. Connecting rod:- Small end: Attaches to piston via wrist pin.
- Big end: Attaches to crankshaft (not shown) with bearing inserts and rod cap.
5. Big end bearing inserts: Reduce friction between rod and crankshaft.
6. Rod cap: Secures big end to crankshaft.
This assembly converts combustion energy into rotational motion in an engine.
