Following the call for applications by the Youth Employment Agency to recruit 10,000 individuals into 10 artisanal professions, including Auto Works, Carpentry, Hairdressing, Glazing Works, Plaster of Paris (POP), Painting, Plumbing, Beauty Care, General Electricals, Welding, and Fabrication, Phase I of the training program has come to an end.
In the Nandom Municipality, six (6) artisans who were selected and participated have successfully completed the training program, equipping them with the necessary skills to achieve their entrepreneurial aspirations.
During a brief address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Raymond Nero, congratulated them on their significant progress in acquiring the required technical skills that will lead to the creation of employment opportunities for the youth in the Municipality. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the startup kits provided to them, urging them not to sell these resources. Instead, he encouraged them to engage with the kits fully and leverage on them to achieve their intended purpose, thereby fostering growth and development in their respective fields. Additionally, he emphasized the government's commitment to investing heavily in the TVET sector, as evidenced by the training programs offered through the YEA.
He urged them to take advantage of the opportunity to become experts in their newly acquired crafts, enabling them to explore the technical and vocational global markets as the job demand is high.
