May God open His door to you and allow you to offer our sacrifices to Him as you did when you were physically here with us.

After a 12-year investigation, the Vatican recognized and declared the Eucharistic miracle of Vilakkannur, Kerala, India, supernatural. The miracle, which occurred on November 15, 2013, involved a radiant human face appearing on the consecrated Host when Father Thomas Pathickal raised it during Mass. The Host is now installed for public veneration at Christ the King Church in Vilakkannur, with a formal declaration made by Vatican Nuncio to India, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, on May 31, 2025, in the presence of Archbishop Joseph Pamplani of Thalassery, Bishop Alex Vadakkumthala of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kannur, and its auxiliary Bishop Dennis Kuruppassery, Alex Tharamangalam, Auxiliary Bishop of Manathavady Diocese, and archbishops emeritus George Njaralakkad and Mar George Valiyamattom and over 10,000 faithful, including hundreds of priests and religious nuns from across the country. This event, distinct from typical Eucharistic miracles involving bleeding Hosts and the presence of cardiac tissue, reinforces the Church's doctrine of transubstantiation and serves as a significant source of faith. This is the first recognized Eucharistic miracle in India and the first globally to depict the face of Jesus in a Host. Three experimental studies, directed by Rome, were conducted at Bangalore Christ University's advanced lab using modern equipment. A committee of scientists and theologians, appointed to perform studies according to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, received the Blessed Sacrament on January 23, 2024, for examination. The Vatican representative in India submitted the complete report to Rome on April 2, 2024. On March 19, 2025, the Congregation informed, via the Vatican representative, that the Vilakkannur Eucharist could be declared an extraordinary event.
