So from listening to Business with Richard Quest this morning on CNN, it looks like the Chile government did kind of a reverse brain drain to empower its entrepreneurs by giving a grant of $40,000 to 25 US entrepreneurs, office space, working visa and /(a one year visa if the entrepreneur agrees to live and work on a new venture, recruiting Chileans as employees) for 6mths. I was intrigued by this wondering why they will invest so much in foreign talents when they could use it to boost local enterprises. So, I did some quick research and it appeared that the government identified that most of its entrepreneurial community did'nt have a start-up culture and lacked some innovation and so to tackle such challenges among others in order to establish and build young businesses they rolled out this program. Indeed I think it's a bold decision certainly in the right direction (if managed properly).
Dear Government of Ghana this is the kind of leadership that entrepreneurs like myself are looking for...identify the problems and take bold decisions to address it appropriately...it's disappointing that in this day and age Ghanaian entrepreneurs can't enjoy 24hrs of power needed to keep their businesses in operation :( I don't even want to go further than this and sound like a nag. If entrepreneurship is the engine of growth like I have heard so many of our politicians say then hey! show you mean it! I still BELIEVE in Ghana :)
Enjoy your day people
