WHEN HE HELD THE UMBRELLA 🌂 (Part II)
The next morning, Amara carried the umbrella to school. She wasn’t sure why—maybe because it felt like carrying a secret. Daniel didn’t say a word when he saw it, but his eyes lingered for a second longer than usual, and that was enough to make her heart race.
Days turned into weeks, and the umbrella became their quiet language. Whenever the skies grew cloudy, Daniel would find her, and without asking, they would walk together under its shelter. It was never about the rain—it was about the little space they shared, close enough to hear each other’s thoughts in silence.
One afternoon, as raindrops glittered like silver threads around them, Amara finally whispered, “Why do you always carry this umbrella?”
Daniel glanced at her, his voice soft. “Because I was waiting for the right person to share it with.”
Her cheeks burned, and for a moment, she couldn’t find her words. But she didn’t need to. Their hands brushed as they walked, and this time, neither pulled away. The world around them was soaked in rain, but under the umbrella, it felt warm—like a promise of something beautiful just beginning
