Bro. Emmanuel Amponsah has received the Connexional Guild scholarship cash award of GH₵3,000.00 — the final installment of support that has carried him through his nursing education.
The presentation took place at the Freeman Methodist Chapel in Berekum during the Sunyani Diocese's Mid-year Prayer Retreat on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Bro. Amponsah, a member of the Mt Zion Society at New Dormaa, was presented with the scholarship money by Rev. Nelson Otchere Dadzie, who was joined in the gesture by the Diocesan Chairman, Sis. Rita Opoku, and her team of executives.
The Connexional Guild scholarship scheme has served as a steady support for Emmanuel throughout his journey at the Tanoso Nursing Training College, easing the burden of school fees and allowing him to focus fully on his studies and training.
Bro. Amponsah did not hold back his gratitude. He expressed profound thanks to the Connexional Chairman and the Sunyani Diocese executives who worked to make the support possible, acknowledging that their generosity had played a crucial role in helping him reach this stage in his education.

The Sunyani Diocesan Guild of the Methodist Church Ghana held a successful Mid-Year Prayer Retreat on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Freeman Methodist Chapel, Berekum.
The gathering formed part of the Connexional Guild's scheduled Diocesan-level Prayer Retreats which took place across the Connexion.
Delivering the keynote address, the Rev. Nelson Otchere Dadzie spoke on the theme "Walking in the Word, Equipped for Every Good Work — Ready for All Thy Perfect Will," drawn from Psalm 40:8. In his message, he called on Guild members to root their daily lives in Scripture, urging them to see the Word of God not merely as a source of comfort but as a practical guide that equips believers for service and prepares them to embrace God's will in every season.
The retreat provided members of the Guild with an opportunity to pause from the demands of everyday life and engage in sustained prayer, worship and self-examination, in keeping with the season's emphasis on spiritual renewal. Such mid-year gatherings have become a fixture on the Guild's calendar, offering a moment for reflection on the first half of the year while seeking divine direction for the months ahead.
Members from various societies within the Sunyani Diocese converged at the Freeman Methodist Chapel for the day-long programme, which was marked by a spirit of unity and devotion. Members described the retreat as a timely reminder of the Guild's core mandate to nurture spiritual discipline among themselves.

On June 13, 2026, the Ebenezer Methodist Society Guild (Community 20, Lashibi) visited the Save Them Young Orphanage in Gulf City, Tema.
This outreach was organised as part of activities to commemorate the 2026 Guild Week celebration.
The delegation was led by Tema Diocesan Chairperson Opanin Kate Appeanti, supported by Tema Spintex Circuit executives.
In her address, Opanin Kate commended the management and staff of the home for their dedication and hard work, while encouraging them to continue raising the children in Christian values.
Guild members spent time interacting, singing, and sharing the Word of God with the children, closing with prayers for divine protection over the home.
To climax the visit, the society donated essential items, including groceries, clothing, and toiletries, to support the running of the orphanage.
Other key activities during the Guild Week celebration included a vital talk on mental health and an insightful intergenerational panel discussion themed: "Building Mutual Respect Among the Generations in the Church."
The week concluded beautifully with a Choral Night featuring the renowned Harmonious Chorale alongside the Ebenezer Methodist Church Choir.
