In addition to the ten main Zemo varieties, you can always find some experimental lines with us. Sometimes it could be extremely small, fuzzy buds, other times experiments with production processes, or even natural flavoring with acacia leaves. To create one great tea, we craft dozens of experimental ones, tasting and discussing each one thoroughly

The Journey of Zemo Tea: Production

The same type of leaf is used for all kinds of tea, with only slight differences in the size of the leaf and the way it's harvested: sometimes a bud and two leaves are picked, other times a bud and three leaves. Then the tea enters the realm of technological processes: withering, baking, drying, rolling, various drums, fermentation — by combining different techniques, we extract a wide range of flavors from the leaf

Before reaching the hands of the tea masters, the tea leaf encounters many: the leaf pickers, receivers, drivers. In addition to knowing which leaves to pick, speed and teamwork are crucial. After all, the biochemical processes in the leaf never stop for a second, and the game begins the moment the leaf is plucked from the branch

Teimuraz Lezhava — the Ambassador of Georgia to Japan. A very interesting person, deeply passionate about Georgian culture and actively promoting it. He’s quite active on social media, gathering millions of views on Twitter, and has seen and experienced so much. To be honest, we were genuinely delighted by his sincere interest in our tea, given his vast experience. We tasted tea, toured the plantations, discussed development paths, and even showed the ambassador our wonderful Zemo ceramic ware. We’ll show it to you soon as well!

Meet Hideki Ishizuka — he assumed his position in 2023 and has been actively exploring all aspects of Georgian agriculture and culture. We were delighted to show the ambassador our factory, plantations, and share the story of the rehabilitation of the tea bushes. Even more, we were thrilled by Mr. Ishizuka’s genuine interest. It was an informative and warm meeting, and we’ll tell you more about its promising prospects soon
