📅 Happy Juneteenth 🇺🇸

On June 19th, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, bringing with them news that the Civil War had ended—and that all enslaved Americans were now free. Though the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed two years earlier by Republican President Abraham Lincoln, Juneteenth marked the final enforcement of that freedom across the last corners of the Confederacy.

This wasn’t just a milestone in American history—it was a massive victory for the infant Republican Party, founded less than 15 years prior with one core mission: to end the expansion of slavery and defend human liberty.

From the beginning, the Republican Party has stood on the frontlines of freedom.

Let us celebrate Juneteenth by honoring the courage of those who fought for liberty, the vision of those who founded a party dedicated to individual rights, and the enduring promise of America.

I was very happy to get to go and spend some time with the Rabun County GA Republican Party executive committee members and help them with their website and other technological tools. In order for us to move forward as a Party we need to have cutting edge tools and communications and we are working to ensure all 12 counties in the 9th Distirct have access to what they need.

I’m incredibly honored to have the endorsement of Bruce Azevedo, former Chairman of the 9th District Republican Party.

Bruce appointed me as Communications Director back in 2015 — I was a first-time County Chairman, and he took the time to mentor me and help me grow as a leader. He’s been a trusted friend ever since, and someone I deeply respect.

I’m not sure I can fully put into words what his support means to me, but I can say this: it’s a reminder of why I’m running — to build on the foundation leaders like Bruce laid, and to keep training, fundraising, growing, and winning in the 9th District.
