Much of the year so far has been dedicated to the rear echelons of my photography. The recent prolonged spell of high pressure has not helped and spring has come and gone with very little in the way of atmospheric conditions. This is the way though. Last year we had three amazing days during the peak colour and it was a lot to ask to replicate that. I did however manage a few days in Scotland which is always welcome. This image was captured in the ancient woodlands of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

I have started the process of documenting the Malvern Hills in more depth. Recent wanderings have lead me onto the mid slopes of the main peaks. These areas offer some nice vantage points of the higher ground and I have already noted a few areas to return to when the sun is in a more favourable position.

A scene that I've photographed before. It is the first time in the 4.5 years since I have been back in Worcester that I've witnessed snow in the local woodland. I was determined when I set out this morning to try and capture scenes with both the winter snow and the remaining autumnal colour present.
