DOG MYTH FRIDAY 🐾
The idea that dogs only see in black and white is outdated.
Dogs do perceive colour - just not the full spectrum humans do.
They have two types of cone cells, which means their vision is primarily tuned to blue and yellow ranges.
What does that mean in practical terms?
Red objects don’t “pop” the way we think they do.
Contrast, movement, and shape matter far more.
Understanding how dogs actually experience the world helps us communicate more clearly - especially in training and play.
They don’t see less.
They see differently.
