Hello friends.

Approaching now LAMMAS (1 August) - otherwise "Loaf-Mass"- around this time it was ( and is !) possible to bake the first loaves from the freshly harvested wheat - a cause for celebration and thanksgiving - in the days when every community was essentially self-supporting.

Also the feast of the God LUGH (Ireland) god of skills, craftsmen, travel and harvests. Inventor (it is said...) of Ball Games, Board Games and Horseracing.
A Mercurial figure - though the Solar Being is at it's most resplendent - Northern Hemisphere - in early August.

It's now 40 years since I moved to South Devon; now "on detachment" in Newton Abbot ; via Torbay and Totnes. The landscape here (Newton Abbot) is a delightful enigma, with far reaching views from the hills around the town. There are Intimations of ancient practices, in this location, honouring the Heaven/Earth connection:- Sun Moon and Stars, and Constellations, across the landscape.
Something our forbears clearly understood well, judging by the abundant Menhirs, Circles and Alignments all around us, but now we sense the gradual "resurfacing" of that wisdom underpinning guiding and strengthening us at this point of great change - and opportunity, on Planet Earth.

At the next meeting of the Totnes Astrology Group:-

2-4 p.m. SAT. 24 AUGUST, upstairs at the DARTMOUTH INN,TOTNES, we'll explore some of the recent discoveries (or rediscoveries) of Landscape figures, and "emerging" Terrestrial Zodiacs in South Devon and elsewhere - another in the EARTH RENEWED/ONE HUMANITY series.

Also on 24th, - in the season of Virgo, a look at the EARTH SIGNS , Ta**us, Virgo and Capricorn and their role at the great Round Table of the Signs and Constellations.

As Custodians of Earth (or, at least, our little part of it ), while we are here... I suggest that our remit can cover everything from "Wombling" - litter picking, to campaigning, (Peace, Justice, Environment etc...) , remembering that we can be/were meant to be... Intermediaries between Heaven and Earth.
