Whilst MVB can not personally perform your MOT we have an intermediary relationship with a MOT testing centre. We arrange and book the appointment, if your car fails it’s MOT we pick up the car and make the necessary repairs and return the car back to the MOT station for a re-test.

One part of the exhaust system is the flexi pipe. Over time these weaken and come away from the pipe and your vehicle may sound quite loud when driving.

Please be aware due to the current fuel shortages we are noticing the prices of engine oil slowly increasing.

We are doing what we can to pass as much as of our trade discount as we can onto our customers but you may see an increase in the price of your oil compared to last year and if we give a price a few weeks or months in advance this may increase slightly when we actually do the work if the oil price has increased.

Have had a big timing chain job on the go for a few weeks. It’s important that this is done right as incorrect timing can lead to engine failure so I take my time on these jobs.

The head also needs sending off to a specialist engineer for skimming. We work closely with Pjoengineeringltd who is the best in Swindon for a job like this.

Customer came to us with a problem with their brakes. Upon inspection I noticed the brake caliper was seized.

When a caliper seizes this damages the discs and pads too with continued use so it’s important to get this repaired as soon as possible.

We are a small family run business and offer a relaxed but very busy working environment. The applicant will have the opportunity to work for a new start up business with future potential to be rewarded as the company grows.

Skills and Qualifications of a Vehicle Mechanic:

MUST HOLD an NVQ Level 2 / 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

At least 5 years' experience as a Vehicle Mechanic within the automotive industry

MUST HOLD Full manual UK Driving Licence (you will be subject to licence checks)

Must have vehicle as occasional travel to Lechlade is required with expenses covered

Right to work in the UK - no sponsorships available

Soft Skills:
Honest and trustworthy
Works well under pressure
Able to work independently

Location: Swindon
Hours: 8:30am – 5pm (37.5 hr/pw)
Salary: Based on experience
Annual Leave: 25 days (plus 8 days bank holiday)
