That's a wrap on our 2026 Low Carbon Solutions in Action Roadshow! πŸŽ‰

Our final workshop took place yesterday in Sligo, bringing together another fantastic group of attendees for a day of practical demonstrations and learning. The engagement throughout the workshop was excellent, everyone got stuck-in and asked great questions.

A special thank you to Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board for hosting us in the impressive Energy Build Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Construction and Green Skills Training at Sligo College. It's a fantastic facility and an ideal setting for developing the skills needed to support the future of low carbon construction.

Looking back over this year's roadshow series, we've been privileged to meet hundreds of professionals across Ireland who are passionate about building better. Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences and contributed to the conversations along the way.

Finally, a huge thank you to our own technical and events teams. Delivering seven workshops across the country takes months of planning, preparation and travel, and we're incredibly proud of the knowledge, enthusiasm and hard work they brought to every event.

We hope everyone who joined us left with practical knowledge they can apply on their own projects, and we look forward to seeing you again at future events.

The best buildings don't fight the seasons. They respond to them.

With warmer weather across the UK and Ireland, it's easy to forget that insulation isn't just for winter.

A well-insulated building works all year round.

❄️ In winter, it helps keep warmth inside, reducing heat loss and improving energy efficiency.

β˜€οΈ In summer, it slows the movement of heat into the building, helping indoor spaces stay comfortable for longer.

Natural fibre insulation also supports effective moisture management and helps create healthier, more resilient buildings, making it an excellent choice whatever the season.

What does Building Better mean?

For David Benn, it starts with understanding how a traditional building works and respecting the way it was built.

For Jeff Colley, it means using that understanding to make traditional buildings healthier, more comfortable and more energy efficient, while preserving their character.

Different perspectives, but the same starting point: understand the building before deciding how to improve it.

Did you know that one of the biggest causes of heat loss around a window isn't the glass?

It's the junction between the window frame and the building.

A well-designed window detail helps create a continuous airtight, windtight and thermally efficient seal, reducing unwanted air leakage and uncomfortable draughts.

In this Window Head Detail, each component has an important role:

1. Tescon Primer RP prepares the surface for a durable bond.

2. Contega Solido Exo creates a windtight external seal.

3. Warmotech Phonotherm helps reduce thermal bridging.

4. Contega Solido SL forms the internal airtight seal.

5. Contega Fiden Exo provides long-lasting weather protection.

It's the combination of these products that helps windows perform as they were designed to.

Because every detail matters when you're Building Better.
