Copythorne Pre-school

we have had a busy start to the Summer Term ,and we would like to welcome our new starters. We have celebrated St George's Day, World Earth Day and our interest area has been a florist , which has proved very popular.

The children have had lots of fun with our sensory tray and planted cress seeds .

Copythorne has been busy with Mother's day cards , which we hope you all liked . Thank you to Kirsty for making the cards with the children. Thank you Lucy for creating our Spring themed trolley with life cycles and The Very Hungry Caterpillar book with props .

The children have also enjoyed making spring pictures from various materials.

Next week our focus book will be The Very Hungry Caterpillar book with props and our rhymes this half term have been Hot Cross Buns , Sleeping Bunnies , and Five little Ducks .

we have been focusing on physical development skills , including fine and gross motor skills . Encouraging children to move in different ways , and use different tools. Our arctic sensory tray was very popular and children enjoyed lying down , sitting and kneeling to access the tray on the floor . This activity helped to boost core strength , mark making, language skills and understanding arctic animals .

Thank you to all our parents , families , children and staff for making the first Copythorne Christmas sing along a success. It was lovely to see all the children sing the songs with such confidence , participate, and their smiles .
