Reasons why you NEED a target market:
- Different guests have different needs
- You need to know what your "service" in serviced accommodation is. For example, if you are targeting contractors and charging £75-125 per night, it makes no sense to supply coffee pods, biscuits, a bottle of wine etc. However, if you are charging £500 per night in the luxury market, these items should really be provided.
- If you know exactly what your target customer needs/wants and you make sure you offer that, your property is almost certainly going to be chosen over another which has tried to cater to all, but in reality, has catered to none.
