We often hear phrases like "maybe next time you should..." after someone discloses sexual violence. ๐ญ
While often intended as advice, this kind of language can shift responsibility onto survivors and reinforce harmful ideas about blame and excuse the actions of the perpetrator.
Sexual violence is never the fault of the survivor. Focusing on what someone 'should have done' takes attention away from the person who chose to cause harm, and from the need to challenge the attitudes and systems that allow sexual violence to happen in the first place.

Take a look at some of the beautiful Pocket Pals we've received recently! ๐งถ
These lovely little creations are given to the survivors that we support as a source of comfort of joy, and they're always so appreciated.
If you'd like to get involved, why not create your own? We're always grateful for donations, and your Pocket Pal could mean a lot to someone who needs it.
