Ikigai - In Light Ikigai is a Japanese word and originated from a place called Okinawa, in Japan. Roughly translated it means ‘life’s worth’ or your reason for being.

I love music and the power that lyrics have to draw you into a story, whether that is the intended story of the writer, or one from your own experiences or invention.

One lyric came into my mind today, and it took me sometime to remember the name of the song.

It started... 'Let me tell you a secret, put it in your heart and keep it, there's something I want you to know...'

It continues 'do something for me, listen to my simple story and maybe we'll have something to show...'

And then, shortly after, the message that perhaps I needed to hear today...

'Be good to yourself 'cause nobody else has the power to make you happy.'

Just simple, honest and beautiful 🧡
