Mountain Goat
A day on the Lakeland Fells, some amazing views, including an awesome sunrise!
Can’t wait to start sharing this experience with others.

A morning of two distinct halves yesterday on the moors around the Kinder Plateau, as you can see in the images. Moody and misty on the long climb from the start, eventually reaching the snow line.
The mountain weather forecast was spot on as I could see the weather improving from the west and I was soon covered by some very welcome spring sunshine and treated to some great views on the way back.
It’ll be a busy year this year. Just the small matter of having another go at completing the Summer Montane Spine race in June. Only the full length of the Pennine Way-268 miles!
Then, once I can walk again, I’ve got my Mountain Leader assessment in September. This will qualify me to take groups or individuals out in the mountains of the UK.
Really looking forward to this next chapter of my life.
Very cold conditions on a northern section of the Pennine Way. I can’t remember the last time I visited Cross Fell and it was decent weather!
Very wintry weather today on the moors!

Very wintry and cold out on the moors today. Some of the slabs along the Pennine Way were lethal due to the ice. Top tip, walk to the side of the slabs if you’re not sure, rather than than slip, fall and cause an injury. Make sure you have the right kit too and some extra layers just in case.

A bit of a photo dump from some recent adventures. There’s a definite chill in the air as winter takes hold.

Sad news. Be careful out there.

Emergency services, including North Wales Police and the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, responded to reports of a man falling from the ridge at approximately 11:30am.
The man was recovered from the mountain by helicopter but was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the man’s next of kin have been informed, and the coroner has been notified.
Inspector Jamie Owens said, "My deepest condolences remain with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our investigation into the circumstances of this tragic incident is ongoing.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the fall to contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 25000678802.”

A good day in the mountains of Snowdonia yesterday. The weather was a bit moody at the summit of Yr Wyddfa, but I was treated to some fantastic views on Glyder Fawr and Pen Yr Ole Wen.
If you would like me to show you or a group around the area or just want to do one of the peaks, get in touch, we can have a chat and get something arranged.
For the time being, it’ll be free of charge 👍
