Emperor Paint

Your walls need to breathe just like you do.
The last thing you want to do is put a paint on your exterior walls that will stop them from breathing 🏡
The problem is, not all masonry paints actually breathe, even some of the ones claiming to be breathable.
Three things to actually know:
💧 ‘Breathable’ is a claim anyone can make. There is no set standard for breathability, so even a paint that lets a small amount of moisture vapour through could say it is breathable.
🧪 Luckily it can be measured, so it’s always worth looking for the SD value of a paint. The lower the number, the more breathable it is.
📊 It’s not just older homes that need to breathe. While older properties in particular need to release moisture naturally, breathability is essential for all homes. Moisture, peeling paint and damp affect every building, regardless of age.

25 years is a long time for a paint to last on the outside of a house 🏡
People ask us how Emperor Masonry Paint does it. The answer is that there isn’t one secret ingredient or a single clever trick.
It’s the result of years of research and a formulation built piece by piece to outperform a standard paint.
Spoiler: It gets technical 🔬
Part 1 at the Old Hall 🏠
Before any paint goes on, it all starts with prep.
Abi kicked things off by giving the cottage walls a full jet wash to strip away flaking paint and dirt. It might not be the most glamours step but it’s one of the most important.
A clean, sound surface means the paint can properly stick to the walls and perform as it should. Skip this step and you’re painting over problems.
Stay tuned to see the transformation begin…
