Happy Halloween, all!
Last night's show in Coventry went really well, not just in terms of the performance and the night in general, but we felt like the band again. Bit of a confession; we played a show a couple of years back (on my 50th birthday, to be specific!) and it was horrendous. I had gotten overweight and out of shape, and didnt feel like my old self. I was unwell anyway, but the show was really poorly organised and the sound was appalling. I completely lost my voice and genuinely felt like I didn't really want to do this anymore. Since then, we've played a few shows, all of which went well, but I'd lost my love for it a fair bit. It felt like I was going through the motions. I stopped getting ideas for music and concepts. I began to wonder if it might be time to just call it a day and focus on my writing. However, something in the back of my mind kept poking me and reminding me that I used to absolutely live for performing, and there wasn't going to be anything that would replace that love, so I plodded on. Then, in preparation for last night's show, I suddenly started to feel that love again. I'm not sure what changed but the idea of rehearsing with the band and preparing for a live show started to feel like it did when I first started performing. Then last night pretty much confirmed it! Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back!

Just over one week till AlterRed play Necroscope in Coventry! The set is shaping up really well and we cannot wait to play live again! See you all there!!
More rehearsals today, this time focusing on the synths. Who knew that upgrading from the Nord Stage 3 to the 4 would be so much work!
First rehearsal for the Coventry show. Still buzzing from M'era Luna and pretty impressed with how well we've remembered the set! Yeah, am stoked for this!
