Speaking of which here’s one of those turbo cars now driven by a different McLaren world champion from my era of f1 yes that’s mika hakkinen in Alain Prosts McLaren tag turbo engine f1 car a really iconic noise for an iconic time in f1 history

Nicholas Prost in his dad’s Renault f1 car. This specifically was a pioneer in f1 for being one of the first cars to embrace the turbo and stick with it and eventually made it work however it was McLaren that really made the turbo work eventually and well Prost and some other driver was at the wheel of that one too … and we all know how that ended

Although it’s hard to see because they hay bails at Goodwood we’re about 5feet tall and 10 feet wide this is Adrian newey driving an early 1960s Ferrari the world would have gone mad over this a year ago all the stories that would have been made up around it. But no he’s just a serious f1 fan like the rest of us just with a lot more money to buy collect and drive some of f1 history’s greatest cars

Probably my personal favourite of all the Ferraris we saw at the Goodwood festival of speed was this the 2008 constructors championship winning f2008 driven by its leading driver Filepe massa this is around the era when I was really getting invested in f1 understanding what it was and what the sport meant

This next round of post is all about the scarlet red cars. Yea for the second time this year I’m in the presence of some truly special red machines. This is Charles leclercs first winning f1 car the famous he won at spa he wins in monza car. The Ferrari that was a little illegal but hey it was fun gave us some great memories and a little hope during that merc dominated era

Speaking of f1 legends. Mario Andretti was also reunited with one of his lotus formula one cars. I think seeing this means so much to the younger f1 fans who never got to see these people race in the day to get an idea of what it was like

Going back even further to one of the oldest living formula one world champions it’s incredible to see Emerson fitipaldi driving his iconic and game changing lotus 72 up the goodwood hill.
