Investing should never become emotional loyalty to a stock, fund or asset. The moment the original reason for owning something no longer exists, it’s worth reassessing whether it still deserves a place in your portfolio.

That doesn’t mean reacting to every short-term dip or scary headline. Long-term investing requires patience and conviction. But there’s a big difference between temporary volatility and a genuine change in fundamentals.

Good investors stay open-minded. Markets evolve, companies change, economies shift and new information appears all the time. Being willing to adapt is just as important as being willing to hold.

Sometimes the smartest investing decision is not buying more… it’s knowing when your thesis is no longer valid.
