Greener Hackney
19/06/2026
For this year, we took to the streets of Hackney equipped with personal air quality monitors to get a real-time look at the air we breathe. Hereβs what we discovered:
β¨ The good news: Overall, the air quality was consistently rated 'good'!
π³ Green spaces win: As expected, the air was even fresher and cleaner around our local parks and green spaces.
π Junction bottlenecks: We did notice a slight spike in particulate matter around busy junctions where traffic builds up.
If you are interested in finding a walking or cycling route with the best air quality, check out https://cleanairroutes.org/. Just enter your start and end locations, and itβll give you three different routes showing you the highest and lowest pollution paths.
