Unfortunately this is far too common on the PS5. The liquid metal burns onto the heatsink/ APU and will no longer spread, leaving a gap. This in turn causes overheating issues, that if left unresolved can cause the APU to fail.

Customer complained of overheating on full load.
This is a great example of how NOT to apply thermal paste 😫
