The Barni Spark Racing Team announces the renewal of its agreement with Yari Montella for the 2027 season, extending the partnership to five consecutive seasons, two in Supersport (2023–2024) and three in WorldSBK (2025–2026–2027).
The partnership between Yari Montella and the Barni Spark Racing Team began in 2023 in WorldSSP, when Yari scored five podiums. Mutual trust led to a renewal for 2024, a season in which Yari’s progress was confirmed in the fight for the WorldSSP title, which ended with third place in the championship and a total of fourteen podiums; results that earned him a well-deserved step up to the WorldSBK category.
His debut in the premier class represented a learning season, marked by the expected ups and downs typical of any step up in category. Nevertheless, the team and Yari decided to continue their growth path together, renewing the agreement for 2026. From his first WorldSBK podium, achieved in Race 1 at Phillip Island early in the 2026 season, Yari has collected a total of eight podiums across the first seven race weekends, including one second place and seven third places.
The renewal for 2027 therefore represents the natural evolution of a growth path built season after season. A series of results that highlights the strong feeling developed by Yari with the entire Barni Spark Racing Team.

“Extending my contract with Barni for another year was one of my goals after a season like this so far. It already felt like something like this could happen in the air, so I’m very happy and satisfied. I want to thank the team for showing their trust in me for another year. With the next one, it will be five years of collaboration with Barni. In terms of continuity, for such an important project that started in Supersport, this renewal is something I’m proud of, because we’ve managed to build a relationship where we’ve celebrated and also gone through difficult moments together, strengthening our bond year after year. We remain focused on 2026, as it is shaping up to be an important year for both me and the team. The confirmation for 2027 allows me not to lose focus on the current season and our main objectives.”

"Today was a difficult result to accept because I feel we did a good race. The team worked very hard throughout the whole weekend and we had a strong feeling with the bike, but unfortunately we couldn’t complete the race in the way we wanted.
I was fighting inside the points positions and I felt competitive throughout the race. It is disappointing to lose the points because of the penalty, but I have to accept it and learn from this situation.
Still, I take the positives from this weekend. We showed good speed and good progress, and I want to continue improving. Now we move to Sachsenring. I really like this track, so I’m looking forward to the next race and taking another step forward".

"Today was a good day. I had a good feeling with the bike and this is another positive weekend start. In the morning it was difficult because I was still adapting to the track and I was struggling a little bit with the sliding. But during the afternoon we improved a lot and I’m happy with the result.
To finish seventh and go directly into Q2 is a good step. We still have room to improve, especially to make another step tomorrow, and I will try to fight for a good position in qualifying".
