Finding the best orientation and grain combination takes time and a lot of furrowed brows. It's important to us to show off the timbers natural character and charms, the material playing such a key role in our designs story. In the coming weeks this beautiful walnut will become one leg of the Ripple desk, a design first introduced to our core collection a decade ago, we look forward to sharing the process as it evolves.

"I could never just work on the computer it's always got to be physical. The computer can be very deceiving, you can't really get a sense of scale, you're looking at this object from below like it's a building or from the angles you like, it's not natural. - It would be very hard to get the sophisticated shapes in the computer straight away, I model with upholstery foam and move it into shapes I like, it's such a fluid way of working, so refreshing working by hand and physically manipulating the material." Always a pleasure to find like minded creatives who have the same passion and appreciation for materials and process as we do. We collaborated with for the 'Bhadra' side table, combining his textured glass, a cast from an old yew tree near his home in Kent, with our signature knotted timber. Both aspects put the knots and undulations from the natural material front and centre in their design making the table a harmonious tribute to the beauty of wood.
