Email marketing - a necessity for eCommerce!
The problem is, many eCommerce businesses know that they need email marketing, but they aren’t able to implement it properly. This means lots of money left on the table.
According to both DMA and Litmus, the average return on investment for email marketing is $42 for every $1 spent - this is huge!
The key to email marketing is the sequencing - sending the right emails at the right time to the right prospects.
Examples of email marketing to include in your mix:
1. The Welcome Email: as I’ve mentioned previously, first impressions count! This email is to introduce your brand, thank them for subscribing, and encourage them to buy (e.g. 10% off your first order).
2: The Abandoned Cart Email: this is triggered when customers add items to their cart, but don’t complete checkout. This is a VERY effective way to convert lost business.
3. The Cross-sell Email: this encourages the customer to buy a product that is closely related to the product they’re interested in, to increase their average order value.
These are just a few of many! When done correctly, it will have a huge impact on revenue for eCommerce.
Remember to stay GDPR compliant, and let customers opt in/out of emails!
