The Children's Bill includes powers for a digital identifier - the NHS number - to link and share information about your child and you without consent.

There's no opt out.
The justification is safeguarding but the powers are very broad and there's no limitations on the sweeping powers. Experts in child protection, safeguarding, human rights, and use of algorithmic profiling have warned that these powers in the Children's Bill will harm children and families.

This week we were informed that one of the individuals involved in the killing of Victoria Climbié, will not be released from prison.

Carl Manning has reportedly not been assessed as to the reasons he did what he did, and there are gaps in what is known about him.

This was his third review and he will not be eligible for parole for another two years.

For the family the process is long and each review calls for a victim impact statement, yet sadly no closure from such painful reminders.

Curiously, neither the probation process nor media reporting has provided updates for Marie Therese Kuoao, Victoria's great aunt, who was also convicted of her murder in February 2000.
