The Pieces Project

On Friday Liz has been delivering a Creative Wellbeing Lunchtime Club workshop at Hovingham Primary School for 24 students. We have a wonderful group of Y5’s and Y6’s this week who loved Liz coming back and have requested to have our workshops for the next academic year, too!

We made wonderful art puzzle pieces representing our emotions and what makes us happy! Whilst the young people were drawing on their puzzle pieces we went round the tables with our wellbeing cards and each student read out an activity to promote our wellbeing! They did wonderful reading and it was great fun discovering different ways to look after our mental health.

At the very end of the session we all came together and read one of the cards- laying down on the floor, pretending to imagine the moon in the sky, and breathing deep! At the end of the sessions everyone was calm and left with a smile on their face!

Today Liz has been delivering a Creative Wellbeing workshop at John Jamieson East Silc with 15
students with a range of abilities, all who had a love of crafts, though!.
We made Pieces Project wooden planters, just in time for summer! The young people did such a good
job colouring and painting their planters and the teachers helped Liz and the students glue their
planters together, ready to take home to their families!
This activity was a group opportunity for the teaching assistants and Liz to build such a wonderful
rapport with the students. They all left with a smile on their face.
