Last week I looked at my favourite sugar tong bangle and thought…

“That really needs a clean.”

After the heatwave it had gone almost black on the inside (don’t worry… that’s completely normal!).

Then at the weekend my mum showed me a pair of silver earrings and said,

“I’m really disappointed… The silver’s flaking off.”

It wasn’t.

They’d simply tarnished.

I told her to grab whatever toothpaste she had in the bathroom and gently rub it over the silver.

About 30 seconds later she shouted…

✨ “Oh my God… it’s coming off!”

A minute later…

✨ “Why have you never told me this before?!”

Her earrings looked brand new again.

Silver naturally tarnishes over time, especially during hot, humid weather. It doesn’t mean it’s damaged, fake or ruined.

Most of the time, it just needs a quick clean.
