Sumdog is a targeted maths fluency tool designed to help ALL learners make progress.

That's why one of the most encouraging findings from our 2025 England Efficacy Study was the impact seen among pupils with SEN.

📊 The independent study found that the proportion of pupils with SEN working at or above the expected standard more than doubled, increasing from 28% to 59% over three terms.

⭐ Teachers also highlighted that Sumdog’s adaptive design enabled pupils to access appropriately challenging maths exercises and build confidence without feeling singled out from their peers.

We’re delighted that these findings demonstrate how Sumdog’s targeted maths practice can support inclusive maths learning.

Building maths confidence often comes down to consistency and engagement. 💡

In classrooms like Ysgol Bro Carmel in Flintshire, teachers have used Sumdog as part of a simple weekly routine to support learning:

✅Regular short practice tasks to reinforce classroom teaching
✅Monthly low-stakes checks to monitor progress
✅Contests to boost motivation and engagement

This approach helps pupils practise more frequently without adding pressure, supporting steady progress in and out of the classroom.

With a Welsh-language pupil interface coming this September, Sumdog continues to focus on making maths more accessible and engaging for all learners.

What difference does regular, game-based maths practice actually make in the classroom?

We worked with Ysgol Bro Carmel in Flintshire to explore how Sumdog supports pupil learning and attitudes over time.

Between October 2024 and June 2025, pupils using the platform showed encouraging progress. In particular, 23% of learners made measurable gains in maths attainment, including some moving from working below expected standard to meeting expectations, and others progressing from meeting to exceeding.

One clear pattern stood out: consistency matters. Pupils who made the most progress were using Sumdog for around 56 minutes per week on average.

📊 Small, regular practice sessions added up to meaningful outcomes.
