Little Pendle Peg

What a brilliant World Book Day at Barrow URC Primary School
It was a joy to share 'A Book of Beginnings' with the older students. Still, I also loved introducing the younger classes to some of my earlier characters.
We went on a bumpy tractor ride with the stars of 'A Meerkat Tale' and met Prickles the Hogglypot (the only hedgehog I know who lives in a plant pot and wears wellington boots!). Whether we were talking about journals or animal mash-ups, the children were so engaged and inspiring.
Thank you for having me.

It means a lot to be recognised locally. A huge thank you to the Lancashire Telegraph for this lovely feature on my work and the journey to get here.

“It took me a long time to get here, but I’m glad I finally started telling Peg’s story.” 🪄🎨

For this piece, I wanted to pay homage to the classic book "Mist Over Pendle" and the moody, atmospheric weather that so often surrounds the hill.
If you look closely, Peg and Fifi are on their early morning patrol of the slopes!

When local history meets a little bit of magic... ❄️🧙♀️
I recently had the pleasure of working on a very special commission that is close to the heart of Pendle folklore.
Many of you will know the famous 1979 photograph by Jack Barnes, which captured snowfall on Pendle Hill that formed the perfect shape of a witch looking out over the valley. It is an iconic piece of local history.
I was asked to paint a tribute to that incredible photograph - but with a special Little Pendle Peg twist!
If you look closely, you can see Peg flying past the "Snow Witch," adding her own little spark of magic to the scene. ✨
It was a privilege to paint such a legendary moment in Lancashire's history.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. The Pocket Moon is now in our shop!
I wanted to create a tiny keepsake for those moments when we need a little reminder of the magic in the world. This “Pocket Moon” is framed by an illustration of the night sky and a comforting message on the card's back.
“Whenever you need a bit of magic, just hold the moon in your hand and let its light find you.”
This charming, sparkly piece of the night sky is made of eco-resin and feels calm and soothing to the touch.
The moon measures 2.5 cm

Hi
I have been making something that I’m calling a pocket moon. It’s made from a material that, when fully cured, becomes stone-like. There’s also some glittery mica powder embedded to give it a nice sparkle.
It’s essentially a little moon you can hold in your hand for when you need a little bit of magic. What do you think?

In Peg's book of beginnings, she learns how to make wishes.
But do they come true?

When I wrote “A Book of Beginnings”, the moment Nanna handed Peg a blank book sparked a whole world of discovery and magic for her. It was a simple gift but an important one.
Inspired by that moment, I have created 'My Magical Notebook.'
It’s a space for children to be the creators, not just the audience. To give them a break from screens and let them get lost in the magic of drawing, writing, and inventing.
Complete with a pencil and eraser, this is a little kit for capturing big ideas.

“Brandywine Bridge” holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the first paintings I did, depicting Peg and Fifi on their first adventure.
Since it's always been such a favourite, I’ve decided to release it as a notebook. These aren't just standard covers; I use the same fine art paper I use for my prints to ensure the texture and colours look perfect.
