Santa from 1pm-2pm and will be telling stories and singing with the children.

Today’s run was hard. On paper it looks great, my pre-run selfie looks great, and my strava looks great - 11k with a nice easy, average pace of 6:57 /km but the reality hits different.

What you don’t see is that I had to stop multiple times during the first half to stretch my calves as they were tight. What you also don’t see is me trying a new route and getting lost!

What you don’t see is that the shorts I always wear without fail, that never give me any issues, rubbed like you wouldn’t believe today. What’s more, my toes pinched in my shoes and I almost choked on a jelly baby mid-run 🤣

I know my next run will be easier and I was so close to calling it quits 6k in. I very nearly did, but my head told me to carry on, that I could carry on and you know what? I’m glad I did.

Running isn’t just physical. It’s such a mental challenge too. Perseverance and strength when the doubt kicks in.
