In honour of my son’s birthday today, I had to do him a quick illustration of his favourite scene from lotr 🙂 Gandalf’s famous “you shall not pass” scene vs the Balrog.
For his birthday he also got a Lego set from the same scene 😂 (he’s also on the last book of the lotr trilogy! Which blows my mind.)

Hey guys I hope you like my newest piece! 6 hours so I’m getting quicker 😌 it’s satisfying to see all the hundreds of hours of practise paying off.

I’ve gone more digital again recently because either I’ve been too tired to paint or I’ve just wanted to practice skin tones and rendering for upcoming oil paintings 🙂

I’ve found myself doing more figurative art recently so I’ve been doing studies of skin tones. I looked for a reference with a complicated posture to kinda test myself and I think I did ok. Her knee is my favourite part, close up in the third slide 🖤

I thought I’d share some of the pictures from our trip to Somerset a few weeks ago. I got so much inspiration there! It’s an old and magical place ✨

Yesterday it felt like summer! ☀️This is me painting with watercolours next to the river Usk. I intend on doing a lot more plein air painting this year, even if it’s just in the garden, because I find it so relaxing 🌷🎨👩🏻‍🎨

I recycled my bunny illustration for the first slide…Followed by some very different art to my norm. I actually wasn’t going to post these- I do a lot of art that I feel wouldn’t ‘fit’ with the rest of my page so I don’t typically share that on this platform but I’ve decided to include these three drawings I did yesterday! I think the full moon did something to me 😂 The first two are completely freehand, no references, but by the time I was on the third one I was mentally tired so I needed a bit of help with the pose 😂

I’m still here! Just recovering from a very inspiring trip away and it’s also the school Easter holidays 🫠 but I will catch up with everyone soon I promise ✨
