We’re thrilled to announce the reopening of The Wellington in Boscastle for earlier this year, following a careful refurbishment. This iconic coaching inn, which has welcomed kings, poets, and so many others over the years, has been beautifully restored. Taking design cues from the history of Boscastle, which was an important port of the area importing timber from North America & Canada, and the horses were used to bring the timbers from the ships, up the steep valley hills. Both aspects of maritime history and coaching trade are used to inform theme & bric-a-brac interest.

The design takes its lead from the palette and materiality of the local landscape. Surrounded by natural slate in the cliffs & soft colours in the panoramic views of wild heathers and coastal bracken: dusky heather purples, rustic clay reds, burnt oranges and deep sea greens.
The soft colour palette is lifted occasionally with a bright pop of deep green or bright red providing a refreshing, contemporary edge.

From a newly designed terrace and dining areas to the thoughtfully renovated bars, restaurant, and rooms, we’ve worked hard to preserve the charm of this historic gem while bringing it into the modern day.

It was lovely to be back at The Fish Inn on a beautiful sunny day, seated beside the tranquil River Arrow. The setting couldn’t be more idyllic, offering the perfect backdrop.
The recent transformation of the pub has been met with glowing feedback from both the Client and guests alike. The entire team deserves credit for their effort in turning the space into a warm and inviting retreat. Stylish modern touches have been thoughtfully introduced, complementing the pub’s existing rustic charm.
Whether you’re stopping in for a leisurely drink or a cozy meal, The Fish Inn now offers a uniquely comfortable and elegant atmosphere — the perfect blend of old and new.
