Life after prison can be very tough for a multitude of reasons, one of the biggest being the lack of protection for those leaving prison when it comes to discrimination from potential employers and workplaces.

Many people find it extremely difficult to find meaningful work post- release, which can often lead to them either coming close to or actually experiencing homelessness.

Seeing no way out of this can often lead people back into crime...

𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.

At Keep The Change we don’t just want to set up a business, we want to improve the economy in the local area, give people a chance to break the cycle, come out of the welfare system and back into being tax paying members of society.

We also want to enrich our local community by giving families the opportunity to shop locally, make a difference and support each other.

We care about our community. We care about the planet. We care about people.

Not only does our plan to provide work for prison leavers tackle the problem of skill shortages in the hospitality industry, but it also reduces the rate of reoffending and gives people a purpose with meaningful employment.

We're teaming up with Waterloo Tea on Witchurch Road in Cardiff to bring you our next pop-up dining event!

What better way to spend your Good Friday than eating good food for a good cause?! The Wonder Bar are concocting a cocktail to raise funds for Ukraine which we'll be serving on the night. All other proceeds will go towards Keep The Change and our mission to help members of our community who are in need of support in finding meaningful employment!

We're still keeping our eyes peeled for a permanent cafe/restaurant premises in the Caerphilly/Newport area with:

🌿 An industrial kitchen
🌿 An outdoor space
🌿 Room for around 40 people to eat & drink in
🌿 Space for us to provide workshops & learning opportunities
🌿 Not too far from public transport

We’re excited to announce, we’re officially registered as a CIC! It’s been a bit of a journey with a few unexpected hurdles to get there (big props to ours gals Emily & Beth T. for their continued patience getting it sorted), but we’ve done it! 💪

We are now in a position to start applying for the funding, training & special licences that we need! 🤩

We've been a bit quiet lately....

The world & our team has a lot going on at the moment, so we're taking time to find our feet & make sure that we can provide a stable base for our future. We want to make sure we help ourselves so that we're in the best position to help others. 🙏
