2 years ago today the girls appeared on The Piano on Channel 4 We went down to Cardiff to record the show and it was a great experience.

The girls got to meet Teddy and hear his story. As a child in Kenya, he would save his lunch money to spend at a cyber cafe, just to watch pianists play. Sadly he had no access to a piano and would 'play' the notes on a keyboard that he had drawn on cardboard.

We are so pleased that he met a piano teacher, who was volunteering in his village, and was encouraged to apply for scholarships in the UK. He now studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire! Teddy's story is so inspiring.

This gives me a perfect opportunity to shout out once more about how lucky we are to have Gwasanaeth Cerdd Ceredigion Music Service in our county. Our children have access to a vast array of musical instruments, they have opportunities to take part in incredible concerts, and perform on some fabulous stages. They can sing in choirs, play in orchestras, compete at all levels and most importantly have such amazing experiences and so much fun.

They don't have to want to go on to study music in the future, but these opportunities give them so much confidence, along with many other skills, which is only a positive thing as they set out on their journeys into adulthood.

Music is a gift to us all...please share it with your children, and support Ceredigion Music Services.

It's 2026! A day of celebrating achievement. There are so many women, past and present who we can be inspired by. I know I have friends and family who definitely fit into this category and keep me going when I need it.
