• Absolutely bursting with pride! What an incredible weekend watching Mark J race in his first IMWC. 💥🌟

After coming back to triathlon from a long hiatus Mark has had quite an incredible season. Mark has competed in 3 Ironman events in the last 10 week’s qualifying for his first World Championship in the process.

Here’s a snippet of race day through Marks eyes …

“I was excited to finish my season at the World Championships in Nice, trying not to let the nerves get the better of me I was full of confidence albeit a little fatigued having raced IM UK and Estonia within the last 10 weeks. A tough course that took no prisoners starting with a non-wetsuit Swim in the blue Mediterranean Sea. The horn kicked the day off and I fought it out in one of many chase groups battling for every inch of water. The hot and high bike course demanded patience on the way up sticking to my power figures and respecting the terrain on the way down, witnessing a number of bad falls from fellow athletes concentrated the mind for me to get back in one piece. By the time I got to T2 the Promenade des Anglais was sweltering, the winner was announced as I took off out on the Hoka run course and managed to see the rest of the Pro’s running for the line on the way up to the airport. A few laps and a bag of ice later and I was done with a great party atmosphere to finish. A mega triathlon experience!”
